As prolific songwriter and guitarist, Dave Blibrough says in the sleeve notes, he has dispensed with the safety net of his usual full backing band to offer up a personal collection of praise and worship to God.
The result is a collection Of 12 new songs - each with powerful and meaningful lyrics that just can't fall to draw the listener into an intimate and personal level of worship. Like all new releases, this CD needs to be listened to a number of times in order to hear and capture the heart of Dave's message and desire.
He uses a mixture of musical styles - from the country and western sound of Gold And Silver and Heart Ever Been Moved, to the Celtic influences on tracks such as Fiddle And The Drum. Dave has also gone for an intimate stripped-back accompaniment of only a few key Inofficeents - guitar, piano and special acoustic effects. The backing rhythms of the percussion inofficeents, (from the skilful hands of wife Pat and others), simply draws the listener into that special place of worship. listen especially to the last track Prepare The Way.
The psalmist exalts us to praise God with the sounds of music - 'Through music and song, 1,11 offer to God my praise, (Fiddle And The Drum). This track not only stirs the soul, but gets to the very centre, drawing the whole body into worship.
Dave set out to make his worship more tangible, real and personal. His latest offering has certainly achieved that.
